side effects of doxycycline

Post by robin311 » Sat Nov 01, 2008 10:56 pm

Has anyone seen any kind of twitching or what looks like shivering after their finch was given an injection of doxycycline? my cordon bleu had an injection today for a bacterial infection and i expected him to be tired but saw what LOOKED like shivering, and occasionally twitching a few hours later. it is not in the least bit cold near his cage. i have emailed his avian vet, who i TOTALLY trust, but being saturday night i don't know how long it might be before i hear from him. any feedback would be appreciated. thanks!

I've never had an injection given to any of my birds, so can't help you at all. Hope your avian vet gets back to you soon. Keep us posted, please.
