I love my pair of zebbies:)
But having them has been stressful. They are wonderful but i have reason to believe they might have mites of something :/
Ok so my female, penelope, is about to come of out of a molt. She looks healthy; clean 'butt', active, sings/chirps, and no scale looking stuff on her legs. My male, zane is the exact same thing. They both are starching though. They lift their little legs and sratch there faces often. Not too often, like only 1 time every minutes. They also ruffle their feathers. I added sticks from the outdoors a couple days before they started. I boiled them before i added them, but could the sticks be causing the issue? I see no little insects. I should mention that penelope had been scratching since i got her. She has also been in a molt since i got her.
Are my zebbies ok?

Re: Zebra finch health
It's probably molting that's making her scratch. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Zebra finch health
I’m sorry I’m not really sure. I don’t think my Zebs have ever had mites so I don’t really know much about mites.
