Hi Everyone!
I have a question about one of my male Lady Gouldian Finches. He has a foot problem. Right now he is in with a female Lady Gouldian Finch and their five chicks. The chicks just fledged last week so the parents are still feeding them. None of the others have this problem. I’m posting a picture of him if you could take a look. I’m treating him for mites right now (I’m using S76) but don’t know if this could be Bumblefoot or some fungus or a sore, etc. If someone could point me in the right direction, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Re: Lady Gouldian Finch with black toe
Looks like the toe was injured. Maybe got it caught somewhere in the cage, either that or bitten by another bird. He might lose that toe, or at least the black portion of it.

Are you sure there is nothing wrapped around the toe, like a hair or piece of thread that may have cut the circulation off?

wildbird Thank you for your help. I didn’t see anything wrapped around his foot. The black part of the toe did end up falling off. Do you think it will grow back?

No, it won't grow back, but he will be fine without it.
