Zebra Finch Male Balding on the Head

Hello! I currently have two zebra finches (male and female). They successfully raised two babies and are now trying to nest again. I have been replacing their eggs with fake eggs and they seem to be doing well. They also have plenty of toys/ food/ water. But just recently, I have noticed several feathers on the floor every time I sweep the floor. I was a little confused because my birds don’t seem to fight (from what I see when I am home). Yesterday, I suddenly noticed how bad it is getting with my male. He is looking pretty bald just on the back of his head.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Could my female be plucking his feathers or could it be something else?

Thank you!

It can be the female over preening him she’s not doing it on purpose try making a foraging box

Or it could be a big molt he’s going through, (but I doubt this option more )

That’s true, I was wondering if it has something to do with the hot summer weather? But I will make a foraging toy to keep them busy. Thank you!
