I think my canary has mites.

My canary this afternoon kinda had a fit flying around preening itself here and there. He did this for over 10 minutes. I also noticed him preening his feet. Is this type of activity a sign of mites or is it fine?

In addition, I also seem him tucking his right foot. He was not resting either

Order some Scatt and apply on drop in the skin on the back of the neck. It will eliminate any mites.

Molting can also cause itchy-scratchy behavior. I Scatt all my birds twice a year just in case I accidently bring in mites from outside when I garden.
