My female zebra finch layed a yellow, slimy thing?
I don't have a picture, unfortunately, but the day before she looked like she wasn't feeling well, and then yesterday there was this bright yellow, smily thing shaped liked an oval at the bottom of the cage. Does anybody know what that is? I looked it up and couldn't find anything. She's been back to normal ever since.

Squibeetos
She layed an egg where the shell didnt form properly. Give your girl some calcium (crushed eggshells) and some vitamin D. Multivitamin bird drops are found in most pets stores containing Vitamin D.
Shes needs both to get her calcium levels in her body back up.

She was egg bound but luckily she was able to pass the egg. To prevent egg binding and a whole lot of other diseases give her lots of calcium, either by cuttlebone or supplements put in water.
Have a nice day!

Thanks, you guys! I had an inkling that was the case but I decided to make sure. I do have cuttlebone and she eats it but I'll try out the eggshells and vitamin d supplements

Calcium Plus is the best supplement. You can put it directly in her water. Has vitamin D to help with absorbtion of calcium. They can get all the calcium in the world, but if they don't get natural sunlight or Vitamin D, then they can't make use of the calcium they eat.
