Sick BCCB hen, mouth open breathing

Post by FinchsRUS » Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:52 am

I put a drop of scatt on her leg but was afraid to give two. Is two ok? I don’t hear clicking, but when she gets excited, like when I moved her to the hospital cage she had a high pitch wheeze of sorts.

I also added Ronivet 12 to the water.

She’s in a small cage in a heated bathroom with food and water easily accessible.

What else can I do for her?

What makes you think there is anything wrong with her? I wouldn't be giving all those medications and mixing them. A bathroom is a bad place to keep a bird.

First of all, DO NOT put her in the bathroom, as it may be too humid. Can you also take a picture of her and send it?
And like wildbird said, don't give your finch a mix of medications until you know exactly what is wrong with her.
Have a nice day!

My Java finches used to pant when I moved them. So do my younger societies on occasion; they aren't the calmest. Since the panting occurs when you move her, it is likely due to stress. Keep an eye on her, but she's probably fine.
