I have two female goulds in a larger flight that look like they got either mites or lice cause their feathers look like the tail picture here:

Now i want to treat the whole lot with S76 (it's supposed to treat this) and also spray the flight with Pestex (if there's any better solutions let me know) but I also want to know if that means I should treat with antibiotics following S76 considering they don't suffer from air sac mites?

I also have two weaned juveniles that belong to one of the females, is it alright to include them in this treatment?

I would not give them antibiotics. You can treat them with s76. It is save for babies and juvies. Put it in all their available water. If you can get them to bathe in it that would be even better.

I put S76 in bath water and drinking water.

I thought you could put S76 into spray bottle and spray the bird just try to keep from face I can't find where i read that ,has anyont tried that?

I think the Pestex can be sprayed directly on the birds, avoiding the faces. Can't check it for sure right now, as the bird room is asleep.

Question, everything says avoid the face. First of all, once you hit that button you have a flying object, a bird. I guess the goal is not to soak the face? When I trim nails or have them in hand for whatever reason then I give them a spray. Just checking.

I cleaned the cages yesterday, then sprayed Pestex (hfentj is correct, impossible to avoid faces) and added the S76 into all drinking/bathing water so hopefully this will take care of it.

Turns out they're molting, noticed pin feathers starting to appear today.

The rest of the goulds are also starting a molt right now (which I expected as their last molt was this time last year) and it's snowing feather all over the room.

I will continue with the S76 just in case (once every week for 6 weeks) but I'll stop spraying Pestex cause I don't think it's lice/mites anymore.

Glad to hear that it isnt a parasite and just a normal molt. Its always better to air on the side of caution thought. Good luck getting them through their molts (or I should say good luck with all the feathers while they are molting!!!)
