Moxidectin in Bath water??

Post by FINCHIE » Wed Jan 07, 2009 6:12 pm

Will it be OK if I put Moxidectin in their bath water? i.e. is it ok if the finch bathes in it? I am treating their drinking water but most of the finches drink from the bath water?? Thanks

I'm assuming you are treating for air sac mites. When I treat my birds, I remove all other sources of water, so no baths for Saturday and Sunday for three weeks. With bathtubs in place, I know they will drink their bath water rather than the medicated water in the tubes, so I don't give them any choice. I don't even give them watery foods, like cucumber, while they are being treated.
