Can SCATT be posted?

Hi,

I am after some SCATT to use as a preventative treatment for Air Sac Mites for my Gouldians.

Also want to know what other Gouldian owners/breeders use as a preventative for birds that have actually suffered from air sac mites (as opposed to never having had the mites).

You can't get SCATT in Australia, but can it be posted over here by anyone?

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge it is banned for import into Australia as well as similar products. You may want to check with your customs department to see if in fact this is true.

I mentioned your post to Michele and she gave me that are you daft look.

So I said "What?!?" :?:

She looks at me and says "Think about it. . ."

It was then I realized SCATT is made by Vetafarm and is produced in Australia.

You should be able to get on the Vetafarm website and order it direct from them. I don't have the web url, but a simple google search for Vetafarm should bring it right up.

I have a large colony and therefore prefer S76. Instead of having to capture each bird for the SCAT, you can use S76 on a 3-week cycle. Anytime I introduce a new bird, they are quarantined for the first month and on S76 so that I know they're healthy when they go to the "big cage".

Vetafarm - the manufacturer of Scatt - has a website specifically for Australian customers:

http://www.vetafarm.com.au/

You will note Scatt is not available if you live in Australia. It cannot be imported either as it will be rejected by customs.

Another option for in water treatment is Ivermectin by ABBA. Ivermectin only requires 2 doses - so you don't need to give it as frequently as required when using S76.
