Help ! Gouldian with one eye closed

I have a blue back gouldian hen, who is just getting into her molt and she seems a little puffed up and she has one eye closed most of the time. She does open that eye sometime though. She eats and drinks well, but she does not seem that much active as she used to be. I have her in a hospital cage now.
What should I do ? What might have caused one of the eye to be closed ? Is it something that can be transmitted to other birds ? What is the cure ?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to say what happened to cause her to keep one eye closed too much. Give her a heatlamp while you have her in the hosp cage and some eggfood too if she is moulting - she'll need the extra protein and calcium to regenerate fresh/new feathers.
Re your signature - it would help if you listed your location in your profile so people know whereabouts you are.

Also if you have any NV powder to mix in her water that would help her. If not, you can give them pedialite.

Thanks for the replies. Do you have any idea, what might have caused this ?

Could have been a tiny particle of anything got in her eye...? Too hard for me to say. Keep us posted on how she looks in a day or so.
Thanks for updating your profile - now people around you may respond if they have what you are looking for... and as I now know you do not live in my neighbourhood, I can't give you one of my birds.

I think the stress of the molt in any Gouldian can cause them to be really tired all the time. I've had Gouldians close one eye during the day which seemed normal to me. They aren't the species with tons of energy. I sometimes catch my Gouldians taking a nap when they are molting.

I used to have Gouldian closing one eye, especially in late afternoon and early morning. I thought that was some kind of eye infection from an injury, cause by fighting for food or perch at night, since he was doing eating and drinking well, and no fluffy, I dont apply any medicine method. Twice a day, I caught him out the aviary, use soft cotton and warm water to clean his closed eye, then put him back. Doing like this for about 1 week, that eye opened more often, and after 2 week, everything was fine

But you said your bird was not so active as the other, then I guess you must be careful, check out this link about eyes and sinius infection:

Wish you all the best!!

she seems to be doing better today, both eyes open and have eaten the whole spray millet I gave her. She has also eaten all the egg food too.
So far so good, thanks for your concern everyone !!!

My male seems to have one eye closed , usualy happens in the afternoon, but doesn't show any other signs of sickness, so i am a bit perpexed...he closes it, but when I walk by the cage and try to observe, he opens it....I just took it for being sleepy...??
