I have two gouldians going through a moult. They are adults and the yellow bird was fine a couple of days ago, and yesterday, i'm pretty sure. I was gone for today and I came home to find the back of his head, completely bald! not a little bald but bald bald.... behind the red, he looks like a vulture. It's sad....

Is something wrong.... why is this happening.... is it something else?

Are these two in with other Gouldians, or other species? Could someone be feather-plucking him? The other possibility is that they need more iodine in their system. You could give liquid iodine or kelp or powdered kelp--any of these will help with Gouldian baldness.

Is this bird a hen that is bald? Also, has it just finished raising a clutch by chance?

I had a hen to go bald last year. She was PITIFUL looking! But she appeared to be fine... eating etc.....

When she went through her next molt, she regained all feathers and is now beautiful!!!!!!

Just curious with your hen did she repeat the same thing this year with the balding and was this trait passed on to her chicks? How long have you had her and how many times did this happen to her?
