Collidial Silver

Post by dfcauley » Sat Sep 05, 2009 7:37 pm

Does anyone use this? I am trying to find some. I looked on Laraine's site and didn't see it. I would like to hear more about it from someone who uses it and what the benefits are.

My painted finch seems to have a little problem with one of his eyes.
It seems the red feathers are missing around it and appears to be a little swollen. I am going to catch him up tomorrow for a closer look.

Not really sure what to do about it, but I read somewhere that a fine mist spray of collidial silver would help. Any suggestions?

I use colloidal silver as the birds drinking water at least once a week. Also it is good to spray on infections. It can burn when sprayed in the eye though. I also use it occasionally as a sinus wash. It burns there also. You can purchase it at Red Bird Products in CA. My neighbor is into homeopathic therapy and has the equipment that makes the colloidal silver so she supplies me with all I want. I buy her some of the silver rods on occasion for her kindness.
Also good is bach rescue remedy. I always give it to my newly shipped birds. 10 drops to the water cup. It relieves stress and has a calming effect.

I've never heard of that. What is it specifically and where can it be bought?

They use this for dogs or cats maybe, I've never heard used for birds. Interesting!

Here is the one Laraine sells -

I always hear two things - people either love it or think it is worthless...

Donna if you want to know more about it ask Sarah - she loves it and as you remember she even makes her own too.

Yes, I remember seeing her set up. I am not quite ready for that yet though.

I am going to purchase a small bottle and try it. Thanks for the link.

I want to try it on my bird's eye. Don't want to burn him though.... :?
