Sick Finches but eating well too

Hi,

I have just started keeping finches and I have 8 of them, with 5 Gouldian Finches. In the last 2 months, I had 3 finches died with same symptoms. They started to fluff, head on to the back. However, at times they eat their meals happily, and go back to the fluff & sleep and again, back to eating.

I have tried giving Silver Collidal and it worked for a while. One went back to normal. The other 3 died.

I changed their papers and water twice a day!

I am wandering what went wrong!

Thanks

Welcome to the forum ,if you fill in your profile with where you live it makes it a lot easier to answer questions sometimes ,have you checked out the finch information center there is a lot of good reading there

Its very hard to say what could be wrong, I would try to seperate the sick birds if you can.
and try to give them a little more heat with a lamp at one end of cage so they can get warm. The link will talk about a hospital cage .Someone else will be on here soon that might know what could be wrong with them.Good luck keep us informed

Everyone here is very helpful. Can you give them some symptoms like any trouble breathing, runny stool, color of droppings, that would help.

Thanks, everybody. Its really nice of you guys to reply to my issue!

Sorry, I didnt say much of where I live. Im in Singapore, midst South East Asia. The climate here is predomaintly tropical, with rain and sunshine. Temperature here is never below 19 Degrees C. I have got finches and canaries. But they live separately.

The stools are watery but I will try to bring the sick ones out to hospital cage to observe them better. I will try visit the website to read for more.

Thanks once again for all your very very kind help...
