Bad Dreams?

Post by miko12 » Wed Oct 14, 2009 11:49 am

Good Day All!

My gouldians on occasion flutter around at night when all the lights are out...in the middle of the night. For sure there are no rats or other animals that could disturb them...as they are in my bedroom. I don't see any trace of mites either and they are on their 2nd week on s76 (my preventive measure for this season). What could be the cause?

Thanks,

Mike

A noise, a light from a car outside, i suppose a bad dream as well.

Most people on here have some sort of night light for their finches. Personally, I use a strand of 50 Christmas lights strung across my cages. Never had a problem with finches freaking out after that.
Goulds, Owls, Gold Breasts, Stars, Zebras, Societies
An obscene number of chicks and eggs
And an incredibly rare St. Goldena Breast finch
Anyone want some finches???

I agree with Chris, some kind of night light will eliminate a lot of that. They still could startle from a sudden noise, etc., but will be lots less likely to freak out.

I agree with Chris and Sally and when you have nightlights and IF they should ever happen to have a 'night-fright' incident - the low lighting will be enough to allow the birds to find their way back to their perches.
