Society gorging itself/breathing hard

Post by trevorama » Tue Oct 27, 2009 9:39 pm

I have a society finch who seems to be gorging herself. Also, she had been breathing hard for about 2 weeks. Her crop is huge and distended. It looks like there is a marble in there. She is not regurgitating. My birds don't get grit, so I don't think she has an impaction. Does anyone have any ideas? I have tried a course of antibiotics, but it hasn't made any difference.
Thanks,
Heather

Is she old? Could be a tumor? Maybe try a different antibiotic. I really don't know, I hope she recovers.
