Picture of my ill blue gouldian + others

Post by finchbob » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:40 pm

I took some pictures of my ill blue gouldian, he has an infection of some sort, the vet says baytril will deal with it, symptoms are he closes his right eye a lot and recently he got a lump come up underneath his beak.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3056/cimg0691z.jpg - ill blue male gouldian with his girlfriend defending him, you can see his right eye is closed again and you can also see the lump under his beak.

http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/5391/cimg0682.jpg

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/7916/cimg0678r.jpg - A different pair of goulds, this hen has a jet black head.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4923/cimg0686n.jpg - Inquisitive bright orange faced male here with his blue hen girlfriend, bit hard to see. Shame because this male has amazingly bright colours.

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7396/cimg0690.jpg - 2 pairs of masked grassfinches, bit hard to see again , all the birds keep hiding in a dark corner whenever I try to get a picture. These are a small colony taking up 2 cages.

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7171/cimg0674.jpg and http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/1606/cimg0675.jpg - My aviary, mainly hecks finches in here, along with a few zebras. In the bottom left of the picture you can see 2 birds who were trying not to get left out of the photo :D

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6910/cimg0693.jpg and http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4785/cimg0692.jpg - 2 different pairs of isabel cherry finches.

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7963/cimg0694.jpg and http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7982/cimg0695.jpg - 2 pairs of bicheno/owl finches, again a small colony in a double cage.

That's not all my birds, but quite a few of them. I have more gouldians, societies, chinese painted quail, even chickens but those spend most of their time in the back garden. I'll link a picture of the chickens too I guess http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7271/cimg0668.jpg

Nope, how did you lighten them up anyway?

After a week of antibiotics and having recently started on probiotics, he seems to be getting better, he looks a lot better anyway.

You can still see the lump under his beak in the first picture, it's going down now though. He no longer fluffs himself up, he seems to have stopped closing his right eye all time and instead of ignoring you when you look in at him, he now leans toward you and peers back at you, just like the rest of my healthy goulds.
