Finches scratching and featherless

Post by sur » Thu Dec 03, 2009 4:02 am

Hi everyone, i have one pair of english zebra finch. They were laying four eggs fine, but yesterday i saw male with lose feathers on the back. The female was looking lazy and she was puffed up. We gave them vitaflight vitamins and also i put SCATT on the female. Today a little improvement in the female but she has lost feather on the bottom of her body and on one side. I sprayed regular Mites spray on both. She really looks weird. I've never had this happened before. I'm not sure what i have to do, please immediate reply would be helpful. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of this. :( I don't have an anser but am wondering if maybe they are plucking each other for nesting materials. :?:
