Signs of aging in Society Finches

Hello:) My name is Agnes, I am new here so i would like to say hi to all users. I am sorry if I am writing this post in a wrong thread :) I would like to know what are the signs of aging in Society Finches?

I can't help you with the Societies. I've had a few birds of other species that were quite old, and they looked it. They seemed to shrink a bit (just like people!), and their feathers just looked fairly ratty all the time. They also were less active than the younger birds.

Look at the legs and feet. In young birds they will be nice and pink with minimal scaling As they get on, there will be more scaling and the colour will change slightly.

I guess now I know why my pair are excellent fosters, but have never laid any eggs of their own. :(
