They have been sitting on 4 eggs for a while now and I was wondering if anyone would transfer the eggs from something like this:

to something like this:

to keep an eye on them and maybe allow them to live. I couldn't find the bamboo ones that I currently have - but these images should give you a good idea of my concern about space, etc. I know that I should probably have faith in their natural ways of taking care of things - but this is a first for me and I am quite a concerned mama. Ha...
What would you do??

I would leave things the way they are for now. If this first brood doesn't live then you can change. I use the larger one in the first pic you have. Also for finches you may be able to use an open nest but you should get one that is much deeper. I once used an enclosed waterbath that sits on the cage entrance. It was clear and you could see everything. The finches like it b/c is was still enclosed.

That's a good idea about the bath tub. I do have one of those. That would be a nice nest and I would take great comfort seeing what the heck is going on in there! Thanks for the tip.

No problem. It was what I used the first time my finches laid an egg. Only problem is that I had two females and it was just one of those things they do from time to time.

The second nest is for canaries. The majority of finches prefer the privacy the nest with the top (the first one) provides.
