Hello, I am new to this forum and I just wanted to share my news that my zebra finches have four precious hatchlings today! I was looking under images to show my husband (who is ill with cancer) what the babies look like, and I found this forum. I am excited to learn that so many people adore these amazing little birds like I do. I notice that there are many photographs of new babies. I would love to take pictures of our new additions. I really don't want to scare the parents. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to do this?

Congratulations on the new arrivals. I've never bred any finches so I can't help you with your question, but I'm sure many others will be able to.

I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.

Congratulations on your new Zeb babies!!
I've been able to take baby pics when the parents are out feeding for a minute or two.
Can't wait to see them!

Congrats on the newborns
I Agree, the best time is when the parents are out feeding. Don't take too long though as they will get frustrated if the cannot return to their chicks.

Hello
Mamabird...welcome to our Nest!
I have 2 Male Zebra brothers and a Gouldian pair at the moment so no Zebra babies for me! Good luck with your babies and hope you can get pics of them in the future!
