Hi! I've had my Society's (3 female, 1 male) for 5 weeks now and I'm surprised that they haven't layed any eggs. Is this okay?
I can tell the male is trying his best to court the females and he's trying to build a nest (he's not very good at it). Could it be that the only nest in the cage is the one that all four sleep in? Should I offer another nest?

It's not unusual for societies to sleep all together in one nest.
As for breeding it's best to have societies in pairs so the others won't disturb the pair in the bonding and breeding process. There may just be too much activity going on in there, however if you left them along long enough they will eventually start laying eggs.

I've heard of societies getting too distracted to breed when they are in a group setting. I only have a pair so that's not an issue for me. I just read something about that today, in fact.

even in a group once they settle in and things are to a norm for them they will eventually breed, and indeed Societies all cram together in 1 nest to sleep its very funny
