question about zebra hen sitting on eggs

Post by kaluc66 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 9:36 am

My zebra laid four eggs. Unfortunaltely they have managed to break two of them. She has been very good with sitting on the two eggs but for the past couple of days I have noticed that she has only been sitting on one and the other one is in the corner of the nesting box. Is this normal behaivior? When she is out of the box we have scooted it back next to the other one but she seems to keep moving it and only sitting on the one. They seem to be inexperienced so I am hoping that the one at least hatches and they will know what to do afterwards. Thanks for the help.

Zebras are pretty tolerant...shape the nest deeper in the middle with steeper sides so the eggs will stay together and can't be pushed aside.

So what happened to the eggs did they hatch both of them?
