good news, sad news and some same old lol

sad news first, my gouldians quit sitting so I candled the eggs and all of them were clear, maybe next time.

good news is that I have baby societies in one nest cant see how many, but there sure is a lot of noise and movement even with mum or dad being in there lol.
also have orange breasts sitting and painted firetails(emblema pictas), red cheeked cordons have started building a nest already (only been here two weeks).

and the same old is that the st helenas have filled yet another nest with eggs only to move on and start again

Sorry about your Gouldians Mickp.
It lessens the disapointment when you have other finches with thriving chicks, doesn't it.
My Gouldians are currently incubating. Don't know how many eggs since I purposefully moved the nest box inside the cage to avoid temptation of looking!

finally had a day away from work andmanaged to get into the aviary to do some cleaning.
the only birds without a nest full of eggs are the gouldians.

That is why I always candle my gouldian eggs at 1 week old to make sure they aren't sitting on duds.
