These shaftails are cracking me up. Tonight they have all four gone to the canary nest. Since two of them don't seem to want to leave the floor of the cage, the other two have joined them in the nest. :lol: Image

That's so cute. I miss my shaft tail pair. This time when i get a pair i will not give them away.

Update on shaftail fledgings. Three of them are doing well and beginning to eat.. One of them, the small one I am not sure of. It will not fly. It doesn't seem to have a problem with a wing and I have chedked them, but all it does it perch and hops up and down trying to get up on the top perch with siblings. Today it appears to be sleeping some. I guess we will just have to hope for the best. Sometimes those weaker ones just seem to have problems. :cry:


update.....I made it a perch that it can "climb" on to try to reach the top. Other than not flying it appears to be okay. Hopefully it will learn soon.

I think sometimes there is a 'runt' that doesn't get as much attention from the parents, so it is slower to develop. If it is looking good otherwise, I would just give it time.
