I just happened to take some pics tonight when I was feeding them their supper. They are about ready to fledge, then I will have to figure out how to feed them. I have been taking them out of their nestbox and setting them down in a paper-lined bowl to feed them, but once they can fly, I'll have to watch for them to take off.

This first one is all four of them waiting for the first course of their supper.

This little one hopped on my finger halfway thru supper. Sorry it is out of focus. When I went to feed the last meal before dark, one of them was out of the nestbox, and I believe it was probably this one. I popped it back in, since it was bedtime for them, but I expect to see babies in the cage tomorrow.

I'm going to move them into their own cage and bring them in the house tomorrow. I think I will put my oldest Strawberry juvie in with them to teach them how to eat seed. My other option would be to wean the other four Berry babies from Felix and Oscar, and see if F&O would take over feeding these 4 and teaching them how to eat. Another option would be to put all the Berry babies together in one cage and let them grow up together. What do you think?

Awfully cute Sally!
I would see if the societies would feed them after they've fledged. If not, maybe another Strawberry juvenille would teach them, like you mentioned. What about an adult Strawberry? I'm not familiar with waxbills.

Congratulations on your success with these since they aren't importing them at the moment and are difficult to find.

My societies finally started to feed my cordon bleu chick when she hit fledging age. Maybe something about finally looking like a real bird? I'd try it, at least. Good luck!
