Hmmm Isibee that's a nice size but I wouldn't stick too many more birds in there. :D I know that they're addictive.
I don't have any finches right now but I used to, I'll try to provide my knowledge around the forum

Lucky you. :) Wish I could talk my sister into a really big indoor aviary for our dining room.

According to the Finch Information Centre - Calculator (under the Housing section), you already have too many for that size. The height, although nice, to make them feel safe perched up high, doesn't really affect the number of birds you can keep. The length and width do, as finches need horizontal room to stake out their own territory.

I would think that what you have now will already be over-crowded a bit, though I gather that this larger size will really be an improvement in their housing situation, unless you currently have them split among a few cages? So I'd stick with what you have, and have much happier birds. Let them enjoy some space to really have room to fly and not be in each other's faces so much.

in an aviary that size I would only put the gouldians in to it and then if you are planning to let them breed it will very quickly become too small.
leaving the orange ones in the cage they are in at present is probably the best thing for them
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.
