Thermometer for Finch Brooder

Post by finchlover24 » Wed Jul 06, 2016 11:23 pm

What kind of thermometer are you guys using? I was using a regular thermometer (the old kind, no digital) and I'm having trouble finding a replacement for a small finch brooder. I'd like something for temperature and humidity, preferably with a probe and digital.

Is something like this ideal?

That would work nicely. And you can put the control unit where it is easily seen.

For temp, I use a digital fish tank thermometer. It has a remote sensor like the one you linked to.

However, I am planning to switch over to an inexpensive thermostat, for temperature control/monitoring. I got it, but have not set up and tested it.

finchlover24 I have used a reptile thermometer before, one that also measured humidity. I like the fact that with this one, you can read the temps/humidity without having to open the brooder. The one that I used in the past just stuck inside the brooder, but I had to open the brooder to see the numbers. I like this (the one on Amazon) better.
