I think you may have some bluebacks there. =D> Even with my GB split/blue babies they always have yellow nodules. I only get that very pale skin color with my bluebacks.

I just saw this post. I had a similar story sort of. A pair that hatched an egg much much later than the other chicks. He was so tiny. Very much like your first picture. The others were big and turned dark and eating well while he new one was floppy and pink. I was concerned as well. But he is holding his own. (The yellow one) and one of the older chicks fledged today!

Babs I think I'll just have to wait and see what kind of juvenile feathers comes in. The mom is a BH PB BB. The dad is a BH yellow tipped beak, PB and GB. I got the parents from two different vendors at a local bird fair. I have no idea if the dad carries split for chest or back colors. It would be cool if there was blue babies but I'm not holding my breath. But for sure all the babies would be split to blue! Eventually I'll breed those babies and develop my own blues.
The two little ones I have no idea if their dad (RH WB GB) carries splits for back color at all. I'll just have to wait till they are bigger. But for sure they will be split to blue.

@Madcat I'm so glad to hear your story had a good out come! I'm hoping for the best for mine. But so far they are doing good.
