congrats on this little babe.... I want Gouldy babies so bad. My Yellow hen is sitting tight... (on one egg i think) She has the sitting down pat, and the chasing away of zebras, last night the zebras weren't even trying to get at her nest, they were just kind of near it, and she was CHASING them away from her, it was kind of funny, i couldn't believe it, cuz she just isn't like that, she's such a great little bird, and then she punked me too! I was trying to help her by moving the Zebras nest box (which is what they were trying to go to, to go to bed) further away from her nesting area, and she flew right down on top of the cage, which I was standing infront of, and she looked right at me, and cheeped! I said I'm not touching your eggs or your nest I promise!! I moved the Zebras nest box and scurried out, and she went back in, to sit.... so she has the sitting and the protecting, but I'm not sure she has the copulating down quite yet... last time she sat for 2 weeks, I checked the one egg she sat on and it wasn't even fertile.... Hopefully this time we'll have better luck! LOL But good luck with your baby, was a little cutie!!!

Their second clutch hatched over the weekend and there are three chicks. Looks like three eggs are not fertile but we will give them a few more days.

Always give at least a week over the due date.

I ended up breaking the one good egg in a Green Singer clutch, by being too impatient. The infant died in my hand..

Another pic of her 26 days later (about 51 days old) taken today, weaned for a few weeks and in the large flight cage with the other juveniles.
