Did the last egg ever hatch?
No it didn't, its either under them all or long gone. I did notice some shell in their nest but not sure if that is it or not.

Yes 4 Little chicks. Hard to see them all on one shot. It took another pic today. If my calculations are right the oldest should fledge by the weekend.

My favorite so far is what appears to be self chestnut, ( on the right) almost camouflage to the nest

FinchGrinch

They are gorgeous looking youngsters.

Yes they do look very grown up. You might want to grab them and band them with a certain colour, so that you'll know which clutch they're from (as I imagine mom and dad won't waste any time starting another clutch soon).

I thought for sure by now I would have had one of the chicks fledge, but not yet. These two sit right on the edge of the nest, looking like they so want to come out but dont do it. Im thinking maybe they are waiting for the other two to be ready.

This morning a heard a lot of commotion and looked to see little finches everywhere! 3 out of the 4 were out. Not sure if all 4 were out yet but they all seemed to be celebrating with all of their chirps.

All four have come out this morning. I took the nest and cleaned it, put in fresh material for them and will keep it in there for a few more days, then Ill remove it all together. I dont want another clutch.
