I pull my nests if I don't want them breeding.
That removes the cue to breed.

Having said that, I have a pair in a nest for MONTHs and have not had any eggs :cry:

I also separate the males in one cage and the females in another cage, to eliminate the chance of unplanned population growth.

IMHO inbcubating is very hard step for bird and should be well prepared to go through. It makes very strange changes on bird body because the lack of feedingperiodicity lowred to strict minimum, body bottom side feather lose for heating eggs, turn them, becarefull for nest night predators, ready for any danger. Iv never caught any of birds uppon eggs getting full sleep mean turned head under wings at any time lonely case i got i put the mate on rest. Only kind of sleep i can see they had time to time are naps and never plain
