Thanks.
I hope so as well, but trying not to get too attached or too hopeful. I know how fast these little guys can die.
Thanks.

Re: # 1 Fuzzy Squiper
Well folks,
I hate to report this, but someone murdered poor little # 1 Squipper.
I heard a commotion from the bird room, and went to investigate. Had to chase the Societies off the nest, but couldn't find the little baby anywhere in there.
Started looking around the flight floor, in the trays, and in the dishes.
Finally found him in the veggie plate.
My poor little guy had sustained major trauma... there were large blood blisters on both sides of his little throat.
Looks like someone had grabbed him by the throat with quite a bit of force, dragged him from the warmth of the nest and dumped him amidst the bits of greens on the plate.
There was nothing that could be done.....

Oh no.
Anyone else in the cage with the societies? I have to admit, I cant trick my societies into taking an odd hatchling. CackleJax will offer help but Dueuce (his mate) says "LEAVE IT NOT MINE!"
The only way I can get them to raise a clutch not their own, is if it actually hatches under her butt when she's broody.
Apparently she is the Gatekeeper of bird souls that shall pass through her nest.
Which leads to me handfeeding most of the odd kids.
Honey I'm sorry you lost thise little guy. Can you candle the rest of the eggs, find the viables, and shove them under your broody societies butts before they hatch so they think it is theirs?

I might just have to do that my dear.
Yes, the flight has Zebras, a Cutthroat (who is always with the Socies), and a Diamond Firetail.
I have some Gouldian eggs that I found on the Gouldian flight floor. Seeing as I'm not breeding my Gouldians now (
), I've stuck them into some of these Socie/Zebra nests. They are nice and pink, and one for sure is alive, I happened to glance at it more closely.
Tomorrow, I'll go through all of them one by one.

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.

Think of it like Esther egg hunting! Even if you put the viables under a socie butt yesterday, if it hatches today (and they can see it and feel it hatch) they will probably raise it.
Wow, you could get an entire clutch of different species! That would be fun!
