Well I'm no expert - I spend the vast amount of my time trying to get my societies to STOP breeding - but sometimes when they are nesting they will pluck themselves or each other for nesting material.
But that doesn't explain the blood under her beak ...
Another thing that can happen is that when someone starts laying they can get more territorial with other birds and the low bird on the totem pole can get plucked.
Breeding is better done either in a very large aviary or with pairs of birds separated into individual breeding cages. They may just be too crowded now that love is in the air. What size is their cage?

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.
