FinchLover&Breeder Sometimes, when there is just one baby or when there is one baby that is a lot smaller/later than the others, the parents simply won't waste their time on that one. It sounds cruel, but it is survival of the fittest. Our cage birds may be extremely domesticated, but those wild instincts will still govern from time to time.

Oh nooo...
Just the youngest one was dead? Or all three?
Better stay out of the nest then. Sometimes they'll do that if they get too stressed by too many nest checks.

Just the youngest and smallest. born yesterday. However the other 2 won't shut up. As they get bigger they get much louder. If I was a parent bird I would shove my ears full of cotton because they are so loud. lol. I check the nest once in the morning and sometimes through out the day.
