Charm is working her magic on her large clutch. About 9 days old now, all look fed and hydrated. Pin feathers emerging. When I hand fed her first clutch (this is her 2nd and 1st ever raised on her own) I had noticed that java finch crops hold less food and dont stretch like gouldians. So Im feeling confident she's feeding the right amount.
She goes through about 4 tablespoons of boiled egg a day for the little ones.

Amazing how a few days can make such a difference in growth. Tux (dad) has followed mom's (Charm's) lead and both are now alternating symbiotically to feed all 7 chicks. I got in a quick shot in my nightly rounds. Kids skin looks pink and hydrated. All 7 are up to speed and all the same size.
They have plenty of room to stretch in their big nest box.

They still have a bit to go. Javas fledge at about 30 days. I got in a quick picture after I got off work. All 7 looking good! They are all mashed up against the back of the nest (instinct) which is also where my "peekhole" is so you cant see them all here.
