Well, this happened...

Post by Ulysses » Wed Apr 04, 2018 4:54 pm

I’ve had these guys for about 2 weeks and purposefully didn’t give them a nest to avoid THIS- this is from my black cheek pair. I noticed they’d been fussing with the newspaper and their string toy but... I didn’t expect an egg in the food bowl. I feel too bad to take them out so I guess i’ll be stuck with babies! I’ve been feeding them lettuce, they have a cuttlebone, their pellets have been supplemented with an added powered vitamin for the past couple days, and I’ve given them egg mash as well. I have of course put an extra food dish in the cage as well. As this came as a surprise, does anyone have any other tips I would benefit from?

Looks like Nature will find a way, lol.

The egg may or may not be fertile.

I believe that my Blackcheek pair is proven (or so i was told by the breeder) and I saw them mate a while back, so. We’ll have to see. I told myself I didn’t want to breed them but I’ve found myself inadvertently hoping for babies now x
