The sad thing is that zebras are sold as "starter" birds.
Then the poor owner runs into their aggressive behavior.
Having gone through this, IMHO, societies are MUCH better starter birds than zebras.

Live and learn. At least these birds were cheap.
An earlier poster said separate the males and females. I only want one cage of birds in my house, so I guess I need a zebra exit strategy.

How long does it take for the feathers to grow back that were plucked out. I just separated my two zebra finches. They do have babies but the male just continues to pluck her, she almost looks sore.
She hasn't gone into the next since I removed him, but it hasn't even been an hour yet.
Will she go into the next and feed the babies? What if he did most of the work?
I'm not sure if she is upset or relieved really.
