Hi Folks,

Well, it looks like there are five monsters in total in this nest after all. Two Yellow aliens, and three normals.

I'm begining to wonder if there were two clutches in there....
I caught a white breast green back male in there feeding them today.... :-?? :-?? :-??

Someone is confused, and not just me ~X(

That's why I don't like colony breeding, darn it.
You never know who belongs to whom, and neither do the birds, you can only guess and I don't like guessing :-W X( .

Thanks folks,

Found one little nestling in the seed tray this morning, he was cold but alive and well. Must have fallen out of the nest somehow. I picked him up and he immediately started begging, his mouth wide open, his little head going from side to side, lol.

I poked him back into the nest to get him warmed up and hopefully all will be well. They are way too young to fledge yet.

What was funny, was that when I first saw him in the tray I thought he was a wilted spinach leaf. That's what happens when you don't put on your glasses folks...

Butt shuffled, lol. Sure got a laugh out of that one

All is well now that he's back in the fold with the rest of the little monsters. They should be popping out of the nest any day now. Are they ever getting loud now, you can hear them all over the house %-( %-(

Also lo and behold, there are more alien monsters in another nest, and eggs in yet another..... they've sure been busy. I'll have young 'uns coming out of my ears over here.

Stuart whiting

The transformation from ugly ducklings to lovely swans never ceases to amaze me.

Years come and go, and I always gaze at them in wonder... perfectly formed eggs, tiny wobble head infants, blind and helpless little alien monsters, then feathered up youngsters, and then they fledge and fly, ready to face the world.

With Gouldians, then comes the second huge transformation, from drab little sweethearts, back to moth eaten fluffed up ugly ducklings, then into pin cushions, and then one day, they bloom into these stunning beauties that are almost unbelievable in their amazing rainbow colours.

It never grows old.
