And in another case I had a gould chick, coincidentally named "Runt", who was WAY behind the others. I tried to give her supplemental feedings, but basically relied on the good nature of the others in the cage. Didn't fledge for a long time, didn't fly for a LONG time, still looked like a baby when the others were coloring up..... She's now a very pretty little hen (though not a good flyer). So you never know!

Thanks Crystal I didn't know what SHE was and yes both zebra parents are the normal grey ones. how did you tell she was female already? I always have to give them time to see if their colors come in.

The chick's mutation (CFW) is a sex-linked mutation, so if the mother is not also CFW, the chick must be female.
