They just look like tiny aliens for a while.

And then....

Sometimes you can tell by the skin colour of the chicks, sometimes you just have to wait and see.

In the meanwhile, get your bird parents used to eating egg food, so that when the babies arrive they will feed it to them.

Egg food is:

Hard boiled eggs, boiled for 10 minutes
Peeled (save the shells)
Either grated, mashed, or put through a potato ricer

I always add some store bought eggfood for birds, just to dry the mix a bit

You can also add: crumbled spray millet, pulverised freeze dried mealworms, some herb salad for birds, some shaved broccoli florrets, etc.

Serve in small amounts, and remove left over after a few hours to avoid spoiling.

Dry the shells, crush them, and serve them to your birds for Calcium.

FinchLover&Breeder

Your guess is as good as mine my dear.

A clutch can be from 1 to usually 5 eggs with Zebras (with some exceptions).

Once one of the pair is always in the nest (sitting tight), you can usually know that the clutch is complete. This is a time to leave your birds alone. Do not disturb them ,they know what they're doing, and instinct will guide them.

If they are disturbed with too many nest checks, etc. they may abandon the eggs, and even abandon hatched youngsters, so you need to exercise a lot of patience.
