In all the mess, I missed this lovely Uno getting his first band! You GO UNO!! You have a life with the BEST salads in town! It's going to be like "wake up, here's the bus to the Golden Coral Buffet..........we have seating right up front. What would you like to drink? I'll have that in just a moment. You enjoy your buffet. I'll be back when you need plates for a refill. Buuh BYE!"

Oh what a spoiled little sausage he will be.

Uno, actually got two bands today. One (yellow), to identify him as BB and Pim's child, and one (white), to identify him as being from a second clutch.

I can't believe these two are laying more eggs. I hate to toss eggs, but this is enough for these two and their first season. Once Uno fledges, out comes the nest box.

Dont feel bad about the eggs. I had to do the same with Brat & Ricco.
They are done. BB & Pim did great!

Uno today, at 19 days old.

He should be fledging in a couple of days.
Had to replace one of his rings, as he somehow managed to slip out of it.

He no longer begs food from me as of today . I guess he's finally figured out that I'm not a real Gouldian..... :(

Another egg had to be removed today, sigh....

A Uno Update :

At 22 days of age, our lazy little squab, is still sitting pretty in the nest, with apparently no inclination to fledge.

BB and Pim, are feeding him, but starting to look at him a little... /:)

Exactly!
I think it's because he's an 'only'. Usually when there are more in there, they sort of egg each other on (no pun intended ).

Hi all Uno fans...

Today, I took our little Uno out of his comfort zone, and sat him in a seed cup, just to see how he will do.

At 23 days, he should be making a move towards fledging.

So far, he's sitting in the seeds and not even twitching so much as a feather. I think he's scared silly. If this continues, I'll have to give up and stick him back in the nest, to bake a while longer, sigh....

Well, had to put the underbaked Uno cookie, back in the nest.

For whatever the reason, he's still not ready, shrug....

The minute I put him back in the nest, Pim, went in to sit with him. Definitely a Daddy's baby.

Has anyone had a nestling, who was reluctant to fledge? And how long did it finally take it to jump the nest?

Ha! That is so fun! :YMDAYDREAM: He doesn't look scared at all. Maybe that little adventure on the Elana Jungle-gym will encourage him tomorrow to want to look around the world a little and explore.

This little imp has no fear of me. He crawls all over me, and I have to periodically catch him to change direction, before he falls on his head on the floor, lol.

He eventually ends up under my chin, where he settles comfortably, until I put him back in the nest.

I love it! He crawls under your chin, followed by an Elana "happy sigh".
