id also like to point out I never buy birds from a pet shop. plus I only carry the more higher priced bird. as a rule if you buy from someone who has invested his time and $$$ into birds- a mutation breeder in most cases those birds are looked after far better than the average finch.
this may surprise you but you very rarely see zebra finches in aviaries here in oz. newcomers yes but serious breeders ...very rarely and if you strike a breeder with Bengalese on the premises and thinking of buying gouldians -stay away from that guy period!...LOL

Being a newbie to this I need all the info possible since dealing with live animals. Birds are not as easy as I thought - health, getting along together, housing - lots to it for a happy and healthy environment.
