It looks like that's right.

Another possibility is that the feathers are now hard-penned (no more blood inside), leading to the feather shafts becoming hollow and appearing more greyish white than blue. However, this shouldn't change the color of anything other than the shafts and possibly sheaths.

I have problems with lighting too when I snap pictures, with such a variety of different colours coming through, that I have to really rub my eyes and figure out which picture is more true to the real colours. It's annoying.

I do love those open beak pictures

Blueberry has gotten so big !!! I know it is your first time handfeeding......you have been doing a wonderful job. Just from reading all the post I feel more confident in case I ever have to handfeed !!! Thank-you so much for posting your progress....so inspiring.

Hooray! Those sheaths are opening up nicely. He will be ready to fledge in just a few days (3-6) by the looks of it. $\M/$

When you thicken the formula, they go through a nice growth spurt! It seems to happen almost overnight.

If the color is true in the last photo you have do indeed have a BB. My handfed kiddos are usually weaned within two weeks, so you are almost there!

Thanks everyone, Icestorm I was quite surprised by the changing color almost overnight. But I suspect you right you could have something to do with the blood flow just before the feathers were ready to open.
Frasor yes he will absolutely be kept as a pet. I will set him up so he can watch the other birds. Once he is eating on his own I will try him pair him up.
