Can you measure the size of the smaller cage?

28 x 20 (inches) is a good size for a single pair. Looks like you are already looking into larger cages. Finches need to be able to fly to stay healthy, so as you probably already know, the larger the cage the better, and cage length is far more important than cage height (because finches fly more horizontally than vertically).

I was wondering if it was possible to breed my Florida fancy with another that came from the same parents but a different batch of eggs.

not a good idea. They would still be full siblings.

Hi Nick,

Keep in mind, that if they all hatch, you will have another 6 birds in your cage (which is barely big enough for two).

I would really sit down and have a talk with your parents (if I were you) about needing a flight cage to house your birds in. You asked a while ago, what to ask for as a christmas present.... I would opt for a flight cage.
