FinchLover&Breeder So sorry you lost him, it is never easy. Much of the time, we have no idea what happened when they die. They hide illness so well that sometimes we don't even know they are sick until they are gone.

FinchLover&Breeder Glad you are feeling a bit better, it takes time. We try to keep the number of stickies down, as they can become overwhelming if there are too many, but thanks for your suggestion.

What are the dimensions of your cages?
Sorry if you have already mentioned it somewhere else (I just realised there are seven pages to this thread alone )

Can you measure the size of the smaller cage?
28 x 20 (inches) is a good size for a single pair. Looks like you are already looking into larger cages. Finches need to be able to fly to stay healthy, so as you probably already know, the larger the cage the better, and cage length is far more important than cage height (because finches fly more horizontally than vertically).
Best of luck.

That's great news Nick .
Let's hope some of them are fertile and will hatch for you.

not a good idea. They would still be full siblings.I was wondering if it was possible to breed my Florida fancy with another that came from the same parents but a different batch of eggs.

Hi Nick,
Keep in mind, that if they all hatch, you will have another 6 birds in your cage (which is barely big enough for two).
I would really sit down and have a talk with your parents (if I were you) about needing a flight cage to house your birds in. You asked a while ago, what to ask for as a christmas present.... I would opt for a flight cage.
Amazon.com, has a lovely flight cage on sale now... check below:
