So... I had a couple... two pure black cheek zebras... but I had to get rid of the female in the middle of a clutch. So I switched a pair of societies into the breeding cage that the zebra's clutch was in to foster the eggs. Well the societies are doing a great job!
So here is the original black cheek pair
Here is the pair that is fostering the aboves eggs

THE MAMA

THE DAD

THE EGGS
So, I had to trade my black cheek female and I got a CFW black cheek female for my original black cheek male.
Here's a picture of them
What do you all think?

I admire the society's. I'd read lots of times how they do the fostering bit etc and trust them 100% with raising chicks. One of my society pairs have raised just one chick so far which is still in the nest but when the dad is out feeding he gives my newly fledged baby zeb's a top up - I think he's brilliant! It must be a trigger thing with them - oh a baby - it must be hungry - I think I'll feed it! Post us some pics when they hatch!

Today when I took a closer look at the chick that is in the nest with the society's I notice the chick has teardrops! It's a white baby Zeb and I know for definite who the parents are:- these two - I think they will be called cuckoo's from now on lol
The society's have done a brilliant job bringing this little zeb up but what will happen when he/she fledges - will they go off with the society's or the zeb's? what normally happens?

hi reading
it will probably hang around mostly with the societies as that is the sound they have heard whilst in the nest but they will eventually breed with thier own kind
