My first time couple of split/blue haven't been very successful. They had 3 clutches. first were infertile, second ones she was disturbed and missed a night and half a day of sitting, the third batch the dogs knocked the cage over. Her beak is still black and the male still sings to her, do I remove the nest or let her try again?
If I let her rest, when should I put the nest back?
I really didn't want to foster eggs, but I may set up my societies just in case.

Hi Hope,
It sounds like you have had a bit of misfortune with your birds and breeding
.
I personally would allow them one more clutch. The stress on the parents is the raising of the chicks - and since your pair has not successfully hatched a clutch and raised the chicks - they should do fine.
Be sure that they do have enough calcium available to them either in the form of crushed eggshells, cuttlebone, oyster shell and/or a liquid Calcium (such as Calciboost). This will help to ensure that your hen does not get eggbound.
If they are unsuccessful with the 4th clutch, then I would remove the nest and let them rest for 4-6 months before you re-introduce the nest.
