2ND TIME GOULDIAN CHARM

Post by B CAMP » Sat Feb 23, 2008 9:44 pm

First clutch they laid three eggs, after about 7 or 8 days,I did a nest check, they abandoned the the nest :(
The next clutch I never did any nest checking. They took turns and set a lot I never knew how many eggs they had but when they hatched and started to beg for food, we only heard the babys two times. When we tried to listen at the back of nestbox I think the hen told them to shutup!
I was sure something was wrong but I was not going to look again, but they ate a lot of eggfood and what seemed like a ton of small mealworms.
Then three days ago one baby out, over the next three days know there are four good looking babys And all seem to be doing just fine. This is the first baby gouldian for me. Will post some pictures If I can figure out the way to do it :?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the babies! I think we all tend to interfer too much with our breeding birds, and they really want their privacy. I, too, ignored my Gouldians, and so far I have 7 babies, with more eggs being incubated.

Welcome to the group and congrads on the babies, Im glad ya left this group alone and got babies. Many think Im nuts but i have a NO PEEK policy and always get many babies that way from the goulds.

ok off to see photos of the babies,

I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.
