My zebra finch babies are doing really well and growing fast - but the pair have started laying eggs again. I did take out the nest when I saw this - but I felt just terrible. Now it almost sounds like the female is crying. Geez. Anyways - finding random eggs around the cage and removing them but wondering how long until she stops? Hard not to take it personal when you hear the female whining looking for the eggs! Ha.

The first question you must answer for yourself and with that nobody can help you is: Do you want more babies?
If the answer is yes, then it is possible that the chicks have fledged and the parents are ready for a new clutch. If they are eating and drinking on their own the parents will "abandon" them and start all over, it is very possible for zebra finches to have fledged by 33 days. You can then allow them to breed again.
If the answer is no, then you must remove the nest and let them go on without breeding. They'll be fine, better they don't breed than you having too many birds for your cages.
