The problem that I was having with the florida fancies-the problem with the egg eating-has not gone away. I have tried everything that I could possibly think of. About two days ago the pair started laying another cluth. I didn't see the first egg, but by the time I came home in the afternoon, I saw the yolk splattered all over the inside of the nest. Two days later, this morning, I saw the second egg and I took it out of the nest. I don't know what to do next. Should I keep taking them out? And when the cluth is finished being layed should I remove the bird the eats the egg and just leave all the work to the male? PLEASE HELP ME

I would provide them plenty of egg shell.
It may result from the lack of calcium.

I have been giving them egg shells and even calcium grit everyday. I just dont know what to do with them anymore.

Is this your only pair? If you have another pair you could try to foster the eggs out. If this is your only pair, you can take out the egg eater and leave the other parent to incubate the eggs to hatching. Some people re-introduce the other parent when the nestlings are a week old.

I actually do have another pair but the female is sick I will try the other idea you gave me and see how it works out.

Hi Everyone...The problem of egg eating is not often seen,if the eater is the hen you cant remove her as she is laying the eggs.

I suggest that you try seperating them for a while and try pairing them up with new partners next time to see if it still happens. the only other solution I can think of becides this is that sometimes if it is a pairs first nest and first time of breeding you have problems like this. so you can seperatenthem and bring them back together next year and try again but this year give them lts of calcium and other minerals such as Hearty Bird for several months pprior to the breeding season.
